Postpartum Prep Party

Cooking class to fill the mother-to-be’s freezer with nourishing foods for her postpartum period.

Traditional postpartum practices have deeply valued the importance of nurturing the new mother, where the only focus is to rest and recover, restore her vitality, replenish her reserves, and care for her newborn baby. Nutrient dense foods are one of the most important elements of postpartum recovery - promoting healing, energy after long nights, breast milk production and hormone rebalance. However, the task of shopping, cooking, and cleaning up afterwards can seem overwhelming in the early days. This cooking class is a thoughtful and very much appreciated gift for the mother-to-be, an alternative baby shower if you like. Like in traditional cultures, the cooking classes prioritise foods that are hydrating, easy to digest, warm and soft, so that the meals are gentle on the compromised digestive system, and easy for the body to absorb.

All meals are 100% whole food based, vegan/vegetarian depending on preference, and include quality ingredients such as organic vegetables and warming spices.

Steps to working together

  1. The first step is booking a free exploratory call. This time is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and discuss the details - date & time, location, number of participants, vegan/vegetarian/mix meal preferences, allergies & sensitivities, and kitchen equipment. I would then email back with a preliminary price, along with a breakdown of the suggested number of meals to be cooked and actual meals based on the preferences, allergies & sensitivities mentioned.

  2. If you decide to move forward, we will schedule the event. After that, I will send a full shopping list, along with any preparation instructions if needed prior to the event.

  3. Let’s get cooking! The time to celebrate and look after the mother-to-be has arrived - creating not just meals but memories the new mother will cherish while enjoying these dishes cooked together after the baby has arrived.
